Aerthorians
Introduction
Aerthorians, also referred to as "Hosts," are a unique species of "Twisted Mortal" known for their longevity and deep connection with Artefarians. They inhabit the Kingdom of Aetherhaven and have a rich cultural heritage rooted in isolation and tradition.
Origin and Culture
Aerthorians have maintained their purity by isolating themselves from other species and adhering to strict traditions. This isolation has granted them ever-lasting life as long as they are bonded to an Artefarian. Their home, Aetherhaven, is also the bridge to the Lumithral Nexus, a realm consisting of the Ethereal Forges and the Umbral Foundry.
The Lumithral Nexus
The Lumithral Nexus is a sacred realm divided into two sub-realms: the Ethereal Forges and the Umbral Foundry. The Ethereal Forges are home to Artefarians, powerful beings that form life-long bonds with Aerthorians. The Umbral Foundry, on the other hand, houses banished Artefarians who have betrayed or failed their Hosts.
Bonding Process
The Eclipsion Convergence is a rite of passage for Aerthorians, where they enter the Lumithral Nexus to bond with an Artefarian. This bond is essential for their longevity and power. The bond also results in Aerthorians and Artefarians sharing traits and abilities, making them stronger together.
Traits and Influences
Bonding with an Artefarian causes Aerthorians to take on similar traits. This can include physical characteristics such as hair and eye color. The stronger the bond, the more traits are shared. However, core body changes are not influenced by this bond. Aerthorians and Artefarians also share emotions and personalities to some extent, with the Artefarian heavily influenced by the Host's emotions.
Life Without a Bond
When an Aerthorian's bond with an Artefarian is severed, they have about 150-200 years to form a new bond. This period is crucial as most Artefarians are reluctant to bond with a Host who has previously shown weakness. The bonding process outside the Lumithral Nexus is possible but requires significant effort and is much rarer.
Artefarians
Artefarians, also referred to as "Artefacts," are beings from the timeless realm of Lumithral. They share their life force with their Hosts and are driven to grow stronger. If their Host shows no effort to improve, Artefarians may leave them, returning to the Forge or remaining in the current realm in a dormant state.
Sub-realms of Lumithral Nexus
The Ethereal Forges is where Artefarians live and wait to bond with Aerthorians. In contrast, the Umbral Foundry houses banished Artefarians who have failed their Hosts. These beings are often seen as corrupt and can only bond with similarly corrupt Aerthorians.
