Sulskei
Introduction
Sulskeis are humanoid aliens that operate entirely on a conglomerate of spirits and souls. As Sulskeis die, their souls are recycled into the planet's 'Spirit Veins', which provide magic and life to those who inhabit the surface world. Their skin is guarded by Buetren Ore Plating, the hardest material found on the planet.
General Anatomy
The Sulskei have a humanoid form with several unique physical traits:
- Height: Males range from 4'6" to 7'6", females from 4'0" to 7'0".
- Muscularity: Males tend to be more muscular and can become bulky. Females retain a lean, toned figure despite high muscle mass.
- Hair: Any style, length, and color, considered natural regardless of color.
- Skin: Any color.
Feet
Two distinct foot structures:
- 4 Toes: Walks similar to a normal human, with the heel.
- 2 Toes: Walks on the balls of the feet (Digitigrade), with possible spikes on the back of the heel.
Hands
The hands of a Sulskei are versatile. They can have either 4 or 5 fingers on each hand, all hands have opposable thumbs. Their hands are strong yet flexible, allowing them to grip and handle tools, weapons, and other objects effectively. The fingers are slightly elongated compared to humans, giving them an elegant and delicate appearance while maintaining functionality.
Soul Containers
Soul Containers are organs that house the souls and spirits giving Sulskeis their magical abilities and un-aging immortality:
- Location: Neck, chest, or stomach.
- Size: Varies between small and large.
- Color: Can be any color, glowing when magic is activated or during intense emotions.
- Function: Contains spirits, essential for magic and immortality.
Tails
Tails are optional and can form at birth. They can be short or long, but cannot exceed the height of the body.
Wings
Wings are optional and may form by maturity. They can be used to glide but not fly.
Soul Bulbs and Soul Orbs
Soul Bulbs form at birth and may bloom into Soul Orbs, acting as magical conduits:
- Location: Within the Buetren Ear structure.
- Shape: Bulbs appear similar to a bulb that has not bloomed; orbs are spherical.
- Color: Same as the Soul Container.
- Function: Regulate magical output and prevent overuse of spirits.
Buetron Ore Plating
Buetren Ore Plating can form on various parts of the body at birth and form throughout the Sulskei's youth, offering protection:
- Required: Plating on forearms and shins.
- Optional: Plates, spikes, and horns can form on other areas.
- Color: Can be any color.
Eyes
Sulskei eyes have unique features that make them distinct and captivating. Their eyes are a crucial aspect of their identity and hold a significant connection to their soul energy:
- Pupil: Sulskei pupils can take on various shapes, including round, slit-like, or other intricate designs. These shapes are often less than 50% the size of the iris, giving them a striking appearance.
- Iris: The iris color is commonly the same as the Soul Container, creating a harmonious connection between their physical appearance and their inner soul energy. The iris can exhibit a wide range of vibrant and muted colors, enhancing their mystical aura.
- Sclera: The sclera, (or the typical white part of the eye,) is noticeably darker than the iris. This contrast highlights the vivid colors of the iris and adds to the otherworldly charm of the Sulskei. The darker sclera can range from deep shades of gray to almost black, providing a dramatic and enigmatic look.
The eyes of a Sulskei are not just for vision but also serve as a window to their soul energy. During moments of intense emotion or magical activity, their eyes can emit a subtle glow, reflecting the energy within. This glowing effect can vary in intensity, depending on the Sulskei's emotional and magical state. The eyes are also capable of expressing a wide range of emotions, with subtle changes in pupil shape and iris color conveying their feelings and intentions.
Horns
Sulskeis can have up to three horns on their heads, with various designs. Horns can be pierced and broken, Sulskei horns are much like a hoof material allowing it to continue growing if not properly maintained.
